Music festival to raise funds for horse barn

AUBURN — Country artists and songwriters Aaron Benward, Brian McComas and
Keith Anderson will tell the stories behind the songs they sing as they present
“Nashville Unplugged” during the DeKalb County BBQ and Music Festival, June
12 at the DeKalb County Outdoor Theater and Fairgrounds.
The event will raise money for a new horse barn at the DeKalb County
Fairgrounds. Other special guests performing at the concert will be Huckleberry
Blue, Backwater and the Jimmy Lynn Band. The event will take place rain or shine
General admission costs $10 in advance or $12 on the day of the show. Children
age 5 and under will be admitted free.
Tickets are available now at Ticketmaster and at Carbaugh Jewelers and
Cricket’s Tavern in Auburn and the Garrett State Bank in Garrett beginning
Friday.
VIP Gold Area Seating also is available for $250, which includes a table in
front of the stage and admission for six guests, a barbecue sampler meal with
soft drink and parking passes. Call 925-8073 for gold seating reservations.
Gates will open at 2 p.m., with music from 3 to 10 p.m. Those attending are
encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets. Carry-in food and beverages will
not be permitted.
The event also will feature barbecue and food vendors, games, a beer garden, hay
rides and merchandise vendors. Business or merchandise vendors may reserve a
space or booth for $50 by calling 925-8073.
The performance times of artists will be: 3 p.m. — Huckleberry Blue; 4:30 p.m.
— Backwater; 6 p.m. — Jimmy Lynn Band; and 8 p.m. — Nashville Unplugged.
