AUBURN — The County Line Quartet will perform Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the
DeKalb Outdoor Theater as part of its free Friday Night Performance Series.
The quartet’s four members grew up together attending the County Line Church
of God in rural Auburn. They joined to sing for a church service in 1994 and
have been singing around northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio ever since.
The lead singer and tenor are brothers, Darren and Dirk McKown, while the
baritone and bass are cousins, Randy Moreland and Stuart Kruse.
The quartet sings favorite Southern Gospel music of yesterday, such as “This
Ole House,” “Daddy Sang Bass” and “Just a Little Talk with Jesus.”
The County Line Quartet has opened for such legendary groups as J.D. Sumner and
the Stamps, the Statesmen Quartet and the James Blackwood Quartet.
Gates for Friday’s concert open at 6 p.m. For more information on this and
other concerts, visit dekalboutdoortheater.org.
